PETG Filament
PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol-modified) is an industrial and consumer 3D printing thermoplastic. It combines the ease of printing and low odor of PLA with the high impact strength, chemical resistance, and heat tolerance (up to ~75°C) of ABS.
PETG sits slightly above PLA in material cost and prints slower, so the same part typically costs more in PETG on both the material and machine-time lines. Switch filament type in the estimator to see the delta instantly.

PETG features outstanding layer adhesion, moisture resistance, and UV stability, making it the premier choice for outdoor brackets, waterproof containers, mechanical drone parts, and functional tools.
Printing Parameters & Stringing Mitigation
PETG prints best at hotend temperatures of 230°C–250°C and bed temperatures of 70°C–80°C. Because PETG is hygroscopic (absorbs ambient moisture), printing wet PETG causes severe stringing and bubbling, requiring filament drying before long runs.
Pricing PETG vs PLA
PETG raw filament generally costs $2 to $5 more per kilogram than basic PLA, and its slower print speeds (due to higher viscosity) require slight upward adjustments in hourly machine rate estimates.
